Ofsted Inspection 2023 As you will be aware, last week, we were inspected by Ofsted. Owing to strict rules surrounding the confidentiality of inspection outcomes until the report is published, we are unable to share more information at this time regarding the outcome of this inspection. We will, of course, share this information with all as soon as we are allowed. What we can do is pass on the comment from the lead inspector, Mr Michael Cladingbowl, that he asked me to share with you about our students. Mr Cladingbowl wanted to share how impressed he was with the way the [...]
Year 8 Parents’ Evening Arrangements Thursday 22nd June 2023 We are planning to enable the Parents’ Evening to be a hybrid of in person and video calls via School Cloud. To enable this to work effectively we have blocked together the appointment opportunities: Video appointments will be between 4 – 4.50pm, In person appointments will be between 5 – 6.55pm. We are unable to do video appointments outside of the designated time due to the normal [...]

She has invited CCBC Friends to join her and help run the Round and About Walks as a joint enterprise from 2023 onwards - sharing the responsibility and proceeds equally. This is an incredible opportunity for CCBC Friends. Our [...]
You will no doubt be aware that members of the NEU have called strikes that will take place across a number of days, 1st February, 1st March, 15th March and 16th March 2023. I am writing to inform you that the school has a number of teachers who are members of this union, and as such we are anticipating some disruption to the normal school day, but I can confirm that the school will remain open. Staff not participating in the industrial action will be working in school on the day of the strike as normal; however, teachers are normally instructed [...]
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and clarify a few expectations regarding PE lessons. I have had the pleasure to work at The Community College since September and have been delighted to see how students approach their PE lessons with enthusiasm and commitment. From January I will be moving to the role of Subject Lead of PE. Therefore, I thought it important to clarify a few of our expectations moving forward. Although the majority of the students’ kit is excellent, sadly during most lessons anywhere from 1-5 students may have forgotten kit as a whole or specific [...]
