You will no doubt be aware that members of the NEU have called strikes that will take place across a number of days, 1st February, 1st March, 15th March and 16th March 2023. I am writing to inform you that the school has a number of teachers who are members of this union, and as such we are anticipating some disruption to the normal school day, but I can confirm that the school will remain open.
Staff not participating in the industrial action will be working in school on the day of the strike as normal; however, teachers are normally instructed by their own unions not to undertake the duties normally carried out by their striking colleagues, which would include covering teaching and covering supervision at breaks and lunchtime. The school is identifying approaches that could reduce the possible disruption but does not expect staff to act against their principles.
