In 2025 the outcomes for students at The Community College were positive, but not as strong as we are used to achieving.  There were strong performances for many students and across many subject areas.

Attainment 8 was 4.4

Over 53% of students achieved five or more passes at GCSE grades 4 and above or equivalent including English and mathematics

– 55% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English and mathematics

– 66% attained a grade 4 or above in mathematics and 66% attained a grade 4 or above in English.

We are particularly proud of the progress students make at The Community College across the full range of subjects taken, where in many subject areas results were above the national and Shropshire averages.

The following subjects achieved some exceptional results:

  • Chemistry 42.3% Grade 7 and above
  • Biology 39.3% Grade 7 and above
  • Computing 37.5% Grade 7 and above
  • Physics 29.6% Grade 7 and above
  • French 20.0% Grade 7 and above
  • Drama 20.0% Grade 7 and above
  • RE 20.0% Grade 7 and above

At The Community College the curriculum is constantly under review to ensure that it meets the needs of the students and this is reflected in the changing nature of the curriculum in place at key stage 4. Students leave the school well prepared for the next stage in their lives.

The most recent data shows that Year 11 students who finished at The Community College in 2023 went on from us to the following destinations

87% went on to study in full time education
• 5% went into Apprenticeships
• 5% went into employment
