The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities and sports clubs/fixtures. There are also numerous day and residential visits, both home and abroad, academic and social. We believe visits are an excellent way to broaden the minds of our young people and that common experience brings all of us closer together. Be it London, France, Spain, Tanzania, New York, Iceland, Stratford, Outward Bound or simply ice-skating in Telford, staff give over a huge amount of time organising and running events, and these are always well supported by students and families.
A fifth student visit to our link school Macechu in Tanzania took place in October 2019 with the follow up visit in 2020 having to be postponed due to Covid19 restrictions. In the past few years students, staff, parents and local businesses have raised funds for the return visits to Bishop’s Castle by Tanzanian students which have been great successes in June 2018 and 2019.
We also provide a fortnightly ‘Enrichment’ afternoon for all students. This is a wonderful addition to our curriculum, when all staff and students take part in a variety of enrichment activities which allow students to broaden their knowledge and experience. Students select from a range of activities each term.
