Thank you to all those parents and carers who took the time to provide the school some feedback via the Parental Survey that went out in February. This letter is to give you a summary of the findings from that survey and potentially answer some of the queries raised by it.
Where the parent/carer has identified their child during the survey and has raised a specific point we have attempted to address these directly already.
Key points:
- 95% indicated that their child is happy at school
- 98% indicated that their child felt safe at school
- 97% indicated that the school has high expectations for their child
- 98% indicated that their child does well at this school
- 95% indicated that there is a good range of subjects available at the school
- 98% indicated that their child can take part in clubs and activities
- 93% indicated that the school supports the wider development of their child
- 95% indicated that they would recommend the school to another parent
49% of all respondents have needed to isolate due to Covid19 and have needed to access remote learning. 97% of those have been able to access the remote learning provided, giving an overall score of 3.9 out of 5 for the work provided.
There was some variation between answers given for different year groups, as would be expected, but there were some areas that were highlighted that we will be making efforts to address.
One of these is that only 69% of Parents/Carers overall indicated that the school makes them aware of what their child is learning. We are looking at ways of addressing this so that everyone feels more informed on a regular basis, but in the meantime can I direct you to the Curriculum page of the school website. On the Curriculum page of the school website is a breakdown of the work being covered by each subject for each year group at particular points during the academic year. This information is updated each year to take into account any disruption that has occurred to delivery over the previous year.
72% of all respondents indicated that their child was not subject to any form of bullying. For those that indicate that their child had been subject to some form of bullying, 88% have said that the school dealt with the situation quickly. Can I assure you that any situation involving bullying is responded to as quickly as we can. It is important that, if your child makes you aware of a situation, you communicate the details to us as soon as possible, so that we can address the problem.
As a school we are always looking to improve our practice for the benefit of our students and the community. Your continued engagement in providing us with informative feedback in the future is very much appreciated. Please stay safe and well.
