I am afraid that I am seeking your help again. As you know, school uniform is a compulsory part of life here. All students need it as ambassadors of the College and, more seriously, if they don’t respect this rule, it is easier for them to disrespect the other rules essential in a large organisation. We can only do this effectively with the support of all parents and carers.
On our return to school after half term, we will have a number of uniform and equipment checks across all year groups. Those students without either basic equipment or the required uniform will receive the relevant sanction, an immediate loss of social time, and you will be contacted so you know where the problem lies.
I would be really grateful if you are able to avoid this by checking your child’s equipment and uniform in advance. The main needs are:
- Basic Equipment – Pen, pencil, ruler.
- Blazer – to be worn at all times
- Shirts – to be tucked in at all times
- School trousers – plain black, loose fitting with a straight leg, concealed zip and front fastening. Leggings should not be worn.
- Skirts – plain black, straight and knee length. Not lycra stretchy material.
- Plain Black jumpers; Hoodies should not be worn.
- Shoes – black shoes. No boots, trainers or fabric shoes.
- Jewellery – One ear stud is allowed in each ear. One watch is allowed. No other jewellery or facial/nose piercings are allowed.
- Extensive make up, including false eyelashes and false nails are not allowed.
- Hair should not be coloured with an unnatural colour.
If you have to buy new items of uniform for your child please check their appropriateness first, against the school website, using the additional guidance if needed. If you are still unsure, please contact Mrs Fialho at admin@communitycollegebc.org.uk for advice.
Thank you in advance for your support.
